Rio-Chico Mexico here we come!!!

So we are almost on our way! Nate and I leave this Sunday for Rio-Chico Mexico with a team of youth from a church in Vancouver. We will be doing work projects that will involve lots of painting and potentially some building. The team will also be running a VBS with the kids there. For part of our second week in Mexico we will be going to a village of what we would consider “unreached” people. They have had little to no contact with outsiders. It is an amazing opportunity for us to share God’s love!

We will have little to no access to an internet connection but we will be calling into the HFL office with updates! Please check out the team blog, it will keep you up to date with how the trip is going! You can also find some more detail about the project from our web site! www.hungryforlife.org

Please pray that God will give Nate and I wisdom as we lead. For almost all of the youth going this will be there first experience outside of North America. Pray that we will be a light to the people in the area who do not know Christ.

Thank you for your support and prayers!! With out you we could not do what we do! I will send out another update when we get back (July 14th).

An Update On Us....

Nathan has just finished class for the semester. He will be taking the summer off to recoup before he starts his next course in the fall.

Our summer is already filling up with so many things! As I mentioned we are leading a trip to Mexico for two weeks in July. We are also taking two weeks holidays in August (camping with my parents) & in the middle of all that, moving into
our apartment!

Please pray for us as we head into a busy and stretching summer.

The picture is off the base camp we will be at in Mexico!!

An International Visitor

As many of you know my role with HFL has changed since my
return and I am now working as the Office Manager. It is something
that I absolutely love and even though it does not involve
traveling all over the world it does enable others to directly
impact the world for Christ. God showed me this in a very real
way a couple of weeks ago.

We have an international partner in Kenya, Edgar, who has for
months been trying to obtain a Visa to come to Canada. The
purpose for his visit to Canada was to meet with an HFL partner
who is working with him. However the local partner here is
sick and unable to travel anymore but is still able to directly
impact Edgar’s ministry by funding an orphanage in Kenya.
While it may seem simple to travel from Kenya to Canada, it
truly isn’t. After being denied twice by the Canadian Consulate
in Kenya, Edgar made one last attempt to obtain a visa for his
trip. Long story short, the consulate required proof that he had
reason to return home. To do this we needed to wire funds to
his account in Kenya. Our Director of Finance was away and so
I was responsible for coordinating the wire transfer that enabled
Edgar to get his visa.

Since then Edgar has arrived in Canada and I have had the
privilege of spending time with him. I have heard all that God
has done and what He continues to do in Kenya.

God used me in a small way to accomplish great things for His
Kingdom. What more can he accomplish through me when I
obey even in the little things!

I don't miss the snow!

I can hardly believe that Christmas is a short few weeks away. We have received a huge amount of snow a couple of weeks ago. Usually the snow doesn’t come until January; if it comes at all. All of you in the prairies would have a good laugh at us here, schools were closed and everyone was driving 20 clicks because the snow pilled on the SIDE of the street might get them!
